Add a New Text Task to an Asset Type (All user types except: Basic/Email/Read/Handheld only)

New tasks are added from the Compliance Scheme by selecting the required Asset Type and using the option on the side menu.  Tasks can be configured during this time or at a later date.  Tasks remain editable by users with the correct permissions.

When a task is added to an asset type that task will become visible in all assets created from this asset type.

Text Task Type

Text tasks save any string but they cannot be defined to have a warning (Amber) or out of spec (Red) compliance status.  Instead they have the following properties:

• The maximum and minimum length of the entered string can be determined. Where this criteria is not met by the data entered by the user it will not be saved.  Use the parameter description field to add a custom hint to the error message the user will see in this scenario.
• It is possible to repurpose the text entry field for this task so a barcode or RFID can be scanned. This behavior requires the user inputting data to have the ZetaMobile application on a mobile device.
• Regular expressions can be saved, these will be applied to the user string when they click save. Use the regular expression description field to add a custom hint to the error message the user will see in this scenario.  A testing area is provided for you, type in some strings as you would expect to receive them from the ZetaMobile user and see how they will respond in the app.
