To create virtual assets within ZetaSafe which represent your real world physical assets (e.g. Taps, Fire Hydrants, Hospital Equipment, Vehicles etc.), it is first necessary to make a Compliance Scheme including each type of asset you intend to monitor within the system with associated tasks that need to be performed.
An asset type is an asset template. The asset type has a name, such a Fire Hydrant or Drinking Fountain, and it details what tasks are available for completion on that asset. Tasks can be configured to prevent them from being visible to all users by using MCS combined with user account controls, allowing certain specialist or unusual tasks to be visible only by users with the correct permissions to do so.
In addition, any number of high level Standard Comments can be added. Standard Comments are visible to all users when they are adding a result or 'unable to complete' note for this type of asset, these comments can save the field technician time, improve consistency and reduce spelling errors in frequently written sentences. In addition, standard comments can be imported from another asset type to help save time. As it is possible to search for text within Task Results, standard comments can prove very useful indeed.
One of the more advanced features that can be accessed via asset types is the asset type template scheme.
For example, as a service provider you configure all your tasks to comply with best/recommended practice and copy the scheme to your client databases, the clients are free to amend this copied scheme, adding/editing and removing tasks, changing compliance parameters etc. Setting the asset type template in the asset type of the client scheme enables the service provider to view the data collected against the clients control parameters, but also against the best practice parameters. The difference in compliance could be quite a surprise! Contact your Account Manager about bespoke reporting if you would like to use this feature.
