Uploading Documents
NOTE: Location users cannot upload client documents, they can only view them from Document Explorer.
Zipped files can be uploaded and saved to the system in two ways:
- A zip file can be uploaded as a Zip file
- A zip file can be uploaded and extracted into its current folder structure, that is, if the zip contains files and other folders, those folders will be recreated on ZetaSafe in the selected upload location and the contents of the zip will be extracted to them.
Uploaded files can be up to 300MB in size, files larger than this will have to be separated.
Where there is insufficient storage space, a message will be presented to the user explaining why the document cannot be uploaded.
As mentioned above document can be uploaded to a number of places but the general procedure is the same:
Click the Upload Document link in the channel/client/location/asset/asset note/location note/result note view. To add a new folder for a document, select Add Folder and enter a name in the input field, click Add. The new folder will be available now to add the document to. The following screen allows completion of the document attributes before saving.
It is possible to edit certain attributes of a document but not the document itself. To edit an actual document stored within ZetaSafe you will need to ensure you have the appropriate software (e.g. Word, Excel, Open Office), download it, edit and the re-upload the document. It is possible to replace an existing document when uploading to retain your version control, there is a separate how-to for this scenario.
Note that clicking on a document link from the Documents widget will show not allow any user to edit the properties, only view them.
